Transparency is part of our service. See how booking confirmation, payment methods and cancellation conditions work.
To confirm your booking, a payment of 50% of the total package value is required. After the request, our team sends the link or details for payment. Accepted methods:
The booking is considered confirmed only after the payment receipt is sent and validated by our team.
The remaining 50% of the package must be paid up to 15 days before the travel date. Failure to meet this deadline may result in changes, cancellations or the loss of previously confirmed services.
Package prices are calculated based on the tourism dollar exchange rate on the day of payment — therefore, they may vary according to the rate in effect at the time of confirmation and final payment.
Cancellation means the total or partial withdrawal from the trip or contracted services, as well as no-show on the date and time set for the start of the trip — regardless of the reason, including illness or personal impediments. Requests must be communicated formally through the official service channels.
Penalties are applied progressively, according to how far in advance the request is made:
| Notice before the trip | Penalty |
|---|---|
| Up to 50 days before the trip | 10% retention |
| Between 39 and 21 days before | 20% penalty |
| Between 20 and 11 days before | 50% penalty |
| Between 10 and 7 days before | 80% penalty |
| Less than 7 days before | 100% penalty |
Within the up-to-50-days range there is no contractual penalty — the 10% retention covers administrative fees, the bank commission on the payment and operating costs already incurred. Under 7 days' notice, there is no right to a refund.
If the traveler changes the trip date, a fee is charged that may vary from 10% to 50% of the total package value, subject to availability and to suppliers' policies. This variation depends on how far in advance we are notified: the closer to the travel date, the higher the fee.
Authorized refunds are processed within up to 60 (sixty) calendar days, counted from the official date of the cancellation request. The amount is calculated according to the conditions and penalties above.
Machu Picchu Today is not responsible for unforeseen external problems or cases of force majeure — including, among others, natural disasters (such as landslides), government strikes or significant delays in train and transport schedules.
