This beautiful valley was chosen by pre-Inca and Inca cultures for the rich variety of microclimates, reaching a great variety of agricultural products. We can also appreciate majestic Inca constructions in strategic places that played an important role.
1.-Archaeological site Pisac
The archaeological site of Pisac is located on top of a mountain from where it dominates the Sacred Valley. This wonderful place is formed by groups of platforms and architectural structures scattered on the slopes. Pisac is one of the most beautiful valley centers containing monuments as it combines the landscape with the fineness finish of its buildings.
2.- Archaeological site Ollantaytambo
The Citadel of Ollantaytambo, built to watch the entrance to this part of the Valley, protecting it from possible invasions of the inhabitants of the jungle. We will have the opportunity to walk through the streets of the village and this will give us a clear idea how was this military, religious and cultural Centre during the Inca Empire.
4.- Archaeological Site of Chinchero
Having visited Ollantaytambo, way back to Cusco we will visit the picturesque village of Chinchero, famous for its beauty and archaeological complex, where you will see a display of traditional textiles with hallmark of this town and ancestral techniques of dyeing.
